Independent data platform audit: a health check of your platforms Your data platforms, reviewed by someone who doesn't sell you licenses

Two problems keep showing up in Salesforce, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Power BI and Microsoft 365: licenses paid for and never used, and data that breaks silently. We tell you where they are, with evidence.

Independent of the vendor and of the licenses

We don't sell licenses and have no commercial relationship with any vendor. What we tell you about each platform comes from your own users, licenses and workloads.

The platforms we review

  • Salesforce
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Databricks
  • Power BI
  • Microsoft 365
  • Azure

Trademarks and logos belong to their respective owners. Their use here is descriptive only and implies no commercial relationship or sponsorship.

What a data audit finds: two problems that keep coming back

Each figure, with the scope its source gives.

  1. Licenses you pay for without use

You pay licenses for users who do not use the platform or who have left the company: new ones are always added and old ones are never removed. We tell you which licenses are surplus and, if you repeat it every three months, we keep the list up to date.

of SaaS licenses sit below recommended usage, on average across the companies Zylo measures

  2. Data you believe is correct and is not

These are living systems: every week new flows, pipelines and workflows appear, and many break silently. You believe the data is correct, your business decides with it, and that mistake can cost a lot.

    26 %

of their organization's data is untrustworthy, as estimated by data leaders

Five platforms, one method

Each has its own page: what we review, what we need from you and what you get.

  1. Salesforce health check

Automations that fail silently, users who have left and unused licenses you keep paying for in your Salesforce org.

    On request
    • Flows and automations that fail silently
    • Inactive users and paid licenses
    • Security and access configuration

See the service: Salesforce health check

  2. Microsoft Fabric health check

Pipelines that feed reports with stale or broken data, and capacity that is paid for but not used.

    On request
    • Pipelines that fail or load stale data
    • Capacity usage and cost
    • Workspace access and inactive users

See the service: Microsoft Fabric health check

  3. Databricks health check

Jobs that fail without warning, clusters that cost more than they deliver and users who no longer need access.

    On request
    • Jobs and pipelines that fail without warning
    • Cost of clusters and jobs
    • Unity Catalog access and inactive users

See the service: Databricks health check

  4. Power BI health check

Reports built on stale or broken data, refreshes that fail and licenses assigned to people who no longer use them.

    On request
    • Refreshes that fail or fall behind
    • Reports that read broken sources
    • Licenses with no activity

See the service: Power BI health check

  5. Microsoft 365Azure

Microsoft 365 and Azure health check

Accounts without MFA, guests and apps with more permissions than they need, and Microsoft 365 licenses paid for and not used.

    On request
    • Entra ID: MFA, conditional access and administrators
    • Guests, external sharing and apps with permissions
    • Unused licenses and Azure subscriptions

See the service: Microsoft 365 and Azure health check

The control points of these five reviews are not counted yet, so we publish no figure: the scope is agreed in writing for each case.

What you get, every time

One report for two readers: one page for leadership and the detail with evidence for your team.

  1. The health status

For each system reviewed: code, apps, website, backend, databases, server and platforms.

  2. Every finding checked

With the evidence of where it is and why it matters.

  3. The list ranked by impact

What to fix first, what can wait and what doesn't matter.

  4. A meeting and a page

We walk your team through it, and leadership gets a one-page summary.

FAQ

What is a data audit?

A data audit reviews whether a company's data is correct, who has access to it and what it costs to maintain. Ours is an expert, periodic health check of your platforms: licenses, access and flows that fail, every three months, because these platforms change every week.

What does data governance do, and what does it have to do with this health check?

Data governance is knowing what data your company has, where it comes from, who can see it and whether it is correct. The health check verifies that on each platform, point by point and with evidence.

Is this the same as Salesforce or Power BI consulting, and are you a vendor partner?

No, on both counts. A consultancy implements or extends the platform; we review the one you already have and tell you what fails and what is surplus. We are not a Salesforce, Microsoft or Databricks partner and we don't sell licenses, so the result does not depend on what you buy afterward.

Aren't the tools built into Salesforce and Microsoft enough, like Health Check, Optimizer or Secure Score?

They are a good starting point and worth using, but they score the product's own configuration. Our health check is a service: someone with no commercial relationship with the vendor cross-checks licenses, users, automations and access, and gives you the list ranked by impact.

Do you change anything in our platforms?

Not unless you ask. The health check looks and measures with read-only access. The fix is separate: your team applies it with the list and the evidence, or we do it if you ask us to.

How much does a data audit cost, and what savings can I expect?

The 30-minute meeting is free. The rest depends on which platforms the health check covers and on their size: users, licenses and workloads, and it is set out with the scope and timeline in writing. We measure the savings with your own data, without figures in advance.

How often should a data platform be reviewed?

We recommend every three months. New users arrive and new flows are created every week, and the old ones are rarely retired. Each review is compared with the previous one.
